Asset Ledger

Every IT asset tied to a person, and every person’s equipment tied to its cost.

Most asset registers can say where a laptop is. Few can say what it costs to equip a department, which assets a departing employee still holds, or what a team will need to replace next year. Asset Ledger connects each asset to the person who holds it through their HR record, so that cost, custody and responsibility follow the person from the day they join to the day they leave.

Asset Ledger will be available as an app for Jira.

Questions it answers

  • What does it cost to equip each employee, team and cost centre?
  • What must be returned when someone leaves, and what is still outstanding?
  • What does a new starter need, and which budget pays for it?
  • Which assets are due for refresh, and what will that cost?

What it does

Assets linked to people
Hardware, software licences and subscriptions are assigned to named people, with the HR record supplying department, cost centre, manager and employment status.
Joiners, movers and leavers
Changes in the HR record drive the work: equipment to issue for new starters, reassignments when people move, and a recovery list when they leave, with anything unreturned flagged.
Cost that follows the person
Purchase cost and ongoing cost roll up by person, team, department and cost centre, using the same funding and GL coding as Vendor Sphere.
Refresh planning
Warranty and end-of-life dates produce a forward view of what needs replacing and what it will cost.

On the Atlassian Marketplace
